Summer's here! Weekend of sunny spells and highs of 21 degrees due in Ireland - Ireland News Beep

Summer might have finally arrived in Ireland as weekend temperatures are set to reach up to 20 degrees in parts of the country.

Met Éireann is forecasting sunshine for both Saturday and Sunday, with the wet weather due to clear by early Friday night.

Tomorrow (Friday) will start mild and cloudy with patches of mist and drizzle expected throughout the country.

Some hazy sunny spells will slowly start to develop as rain moves to the east of the country throughout the afternoon and evening.

Temperatures on Friday will reach up to 19 degrees, with some moderate breezes.

“Any lingering showers will die out early on Friday night with a dry and cloudy night following,” the Met Éireann website states.

Saturday will begin dry and warm, and will remain that way for the day, with temperatures reaching up to 21 degrees in parts of the country.

Coastal areas will be slightly cooler, with temperatures still expected to hit the 17-degree mark.

Sunday will be much the same, however cloud will start to build in some areas.

Temperatures will be higher though, with them expected to be in the 18 to 22 degree range.

There will be some light breezes too.

The settled, sunny spells look as though they will continue into next week, continuing to warm the country.
