Troy Parrott and several of his Ireland teammates were in attendance for a dramatic night of League of Ireland action at Dalymount Park on Monday night.
Glorious sunshine met Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers for a top-of-the-table clash which marked the last men’s Dublin derby scheduled to take place at Dalymount before its demolition.

The game produced drama fitting of the occasion and the stunning weather, as Rovers nicked it at the death to the joy of the travelling Hoops fans.

Enda Stephens’ late header may have spoiled the day for Bohemians fans, but one person associated with the club had a moment to remember when he encountered Troy Parrott in the Jodi Stand.

Irish fans will love Troy Parrott’s screensaver
Troy Parrott, Jake O’Brien, and Jayson Molumby were in attendance at Dalymount, along with Ireland head coach Heimir HallgrΓmsson and his assistant John O’Shea.
Parrott had a brilliant interaction with Bohemians videographer Darren O’Hanlon (@YourDailyDohs) in the Members Bar of the Jodi Stand.
O’Hanlon captured the instantly iconic image of Parrott’s open-arm celebration in front of the Irish fans after his goalscoring heroics against Portugal last November.
When O’Hanlon asked Parrott to sign a print of the photo, the Irish striker revealed it is, in fact, the screensaver on his phone.
“I’ve had that on my phone screen since then,” Parrott said.
The 24-year-old signed the print with the message:
My favourite picture. Love Troy
Not only was this an amazing endorsement of what is a superb sporting image, but it was also a reflection on the special connection between Troy Parrott and the Irish fanbase.
He will be back in front of the Ireland fans when they face Qatar on Thursday evening at the Aviva Stadium. Kick-off is at 7:45pm, and the game is live on RTΓ 2.
