We will finally get the crossover we have all been waiting for over the coming weeks, with the worlds of GAA and Love Island set to collide when Galway player Seán Fitzgerald enters the Spanish villa.

The Barna man will be part of the new series of the smash hit ITV show, which gets underway on June 1st. While it remains to be seen how the Galway defender gets on, he could forge a new path between the GAA and reality television.

As a man who competed against some of the best athletes in the world in Superstars, why couldn’t Pat Spillane win Love Island as well?

The Kerry man has the gift of the gab and it would have got him far in the villa.

Someone who cut the sleeves off a GAA jersey is an automatic inclusion on this list.

Bernard Brogan (Dublin)

Bernard Brogan was built for two things: getting big scores in Croke Park and Love Island.

Unfortunately, he only got to walk down one of those paths.
