The former Late Late Show host gushed about the couple’s Connemara wedding and their plans for an autumn honeymoon

Ryan Tubridy has shared details about his magical wedding day – and the moment he realised his wife was the one.
The broadcaster married Dr Clare Kambamettu last December in a stunning Galway ceremony.
The pair first crossed paths in 2023, and Ryan has revealed he knew quite quickly that she was someone special.
“I knew quite soon after we met that I was dealing with somebody very special,” Ryan told RSVP Magazine.
“It wouldn’t have taken me too long. I don’t want to say too much and I don’t want to embarrass her, but I would have had a good feeling about Clare from the get-go. Then we found our way and it worked out nicely.”
The couple exchanged vows in Connemara last year, and it proved to be an unforgettable occasion.

“It was the most beautiful day because it was authentic and sincere and warm and loving,” the former Late Late Show presenter gushed.
“Everyone had a good time. It was a party, it didn’t feel like an austere, formal wedding. It was a gathering of happy people, and it was a wonderful, wonderful day.
“I thought she looked amazing. I was knocked out when I saw her that morning, I can tell you. She’s a very caring person and she cared where the dress came from, she wanted to shop local, she wanted to make sure it wasn’t a fast fashion dress. She loves not wasting, and yet she can do it so effortlessly and look beautiful.
All the flowers and everything we used we bought locally in the Connemara area. It was very much a case of supporting the local businesses and trying to keep it in the country as much as we could. We were very keen to do that.”
The couple are now making plans for a honeymoon later this year.

“We’re planning on one,” Ryan said. “We went on a holiday, I don’t think you’d call it a honeymoon, but we have plans for an autumn honeymoon. We’re going to do it properly.”
He went on to say that the pair are settling into married life wonderfully.
“It’s treating me very, very well indeed,” the podcaster said. “It’s very nice. We’re very well suited actually. We love reading, we love doing crosswords, we love going for a little run, we love Connemara.
“It all makes sense. Clare is the best going away present I ever got from an organisation I left; essentially, I’m very grateful to RTÉ for that.”
