Rachel Blackmore took her newborn son to visit Henry de Bromhead’s stable
Rachael Blackmore and her baby boy were welcome visitors to Henry de Bromhead’s yard on Friday.
The legendary former jockey, 36, and her partner Brian Hayes, another top-class rider, announced the arrival of their son on Wednesday.
Sharing a black-and-white photo of herself cradling the newborn, Blackmore revealed the birth of Bowie Martin Hayes.
And the new mother has wasted no time introducing Bowie to her favourite four-legged animals.

Mother and son visited de Bromhead’s Knockeen Stables in Waterford on Friday, much to the delight of the stable staff.
Blackmore was all smiles as she introduced her son to the team and to many of the yard’s equine stars.
The Tipperary woman made a name for herself while riding for de Bromhead over a number of years, teaming up with the trainer to win, among other races, the Cheltenham Gold Cup, the Grand National and the Champion Hurdle.
Blackmore, who retired from race-riding in May 2025, became the first female jockey to win the Grand National when she partnered Minella Times to victory in 2021.
She and Hayes, one of the country’s leading jump jockeys, tied the knot in January of this year before welcoming their first child.
