A man in his 80s has been killed in a crash involving a car and a truck in Co Louth.
The collision occurred on the N2 at Edmondstown in Ardee at around 5.40pm.
The man, who was the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
The road is currently closed, pending a technical examination by gardaí, and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward, particularly road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the area of Edmondstown between 5pm and 6pm.
