Blending contemporary R&B, deep house, and pop, Doubt follows his 2025 release, Closer.

“I wrote and produced Doubt myself with the intention of creating a feelgood, summery track about disregarding doubting yourself,” says Romeo.

“Unfortunately. I sometimes doubt myself throughout my life, but when I listen to this song I remember the times when I haven’t doubted myself and I try to bring that positive energy into my life and mindset.

“I wanted the track to sound cool, groovy and futuristic… to me, it’s the type of track that would sound like a treat on a bright summery day and also sound electric in a nightclub.”

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

I’m proudly from Dublin, I love writing music and performing and I also love going to the gym (a time where I can listen to lots of tracks in my headphones – I love energetic music that soundtracks my sessions well!

How would you describe your music?

I’ve always loved pop music – I’d say my music is pop with elements of dance and R&B. I love many styles of music but my favourite has always been feel good music with groovy basslines that puts me in a good mood!

Who are your musical inspirations?

I have so many. A list of names would include Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, The Weeknd, Beyoncé, Kaytranada, Timbaland and Doja Cat. I tend to love artists with energetic music that have good visual accompaniments such as live performances. I love F3miii’s music too and it’s great to see Irish artists do so well. He’s made lots of great music over the years so it’s amazing to see him reach so many listeners across the world.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

I saw Britney Spears in the 3Arena when I was nine. I was in awe. I couldn’t believe she was actually in front of my eyes! I was incredibly drawn to Britney as a kid because I loved her music and how she danced and how her personality shined through in her work.

What was the first record you ever bought?

It was The Fame by Lady Gaga when I was six. That was the time when she was just emerging and I was obsessed. I definitely made a good choice being invested in a great artist at such a young age.

What’s your favourite song right now?

I love Midnight Sun by Zara Larsson and the remixes she’s released for it. I love the idea of having a track with a good melody and vocals and then thinking of ways to remix it. I love the Alex Chapman and PinkPantheress remixes of it that Zara has released.

Favourite lyric of all time?

I love 212 by Azealia Banks where she says “why you procrastinating girl? saying you’re grinding but you ain’t going nowhere…” It always reminds me to keep focusing on my goals and not procrastinate which I have in the past if I’m being honest! Also, Happy & Sad by Kacey Musgraves, the melancholy in the track creates such a sweet atmosphere yet feels based in how I see the real world.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Probably Whenever, Wherever by Shakira. I’ve loved that song ever since I can remember. I’d differentiate between the Spanish and English versions, I’m learning Spanish at the moment and her lyrics help me improve.

Where can people find your music/more information?

I’m very active on social media: romeokeane02 on both Instagram and TikTok. I also have music available on all streaming platforms. I have a mailing list too so you can keep in contact with my next releases and upcoming gigs. Doubt is my newest single and is out now, and I will release an EP this summer.
