Local radio is tied as one of the most trusted news brands, according to The Digital News Report Ireland 2026.
The report says that 71% of people describe local or regional radio as trustworthy, while the same amount of people say so about RTÉ.
Local or regional newspapers were close behind on 69%.
However, it also found that news avoidance is at an all-time high among Irish people, with 47% saying they find themselves actively trying to avoid the news.
