Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling are making their first public appearance as a married couple on the first day of Royal Ascot.
The newlyweds, who tied the knot the first weekend in June at a small family wedding in the Cotswolds, were part of the carriage procession on the first day of the event. Harriet sat next to her mother-in-law, Princess Anne, and across from Peter. Also in their carriage was Sir Ben Elliot, Queen Camilla’s nephew.

Harriet made her Royal Ascot procession debut last year, her first official appearance with the royal family. In 2024, she joined Peter after the procession.

For the day at Ascot, Harriet wore a light blue Suzannah London silk dress and a matching Jane Taylor fascinator. She accessorized with dangling statement earrings, a bangle, and her sparkling engagement ring. She finished her look with white slingback Jimmy Choo pumps, and carried a two-tone clutch from Anya Hindmarch. Peter wore a light blue tie, perhaps a nod to his new wife’s outfit. And, despite being members of the British royal family, they have to wear name tags.

After the procession and mingling in the royal enclosure, the Phillipses were spotted in the royal box, clinking glasses as they shared a toast.

Other royal attendees today include King Charles and Queen Camilla, Peter’s sister Zara Tindall and her husband, Mike Tindall, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. Royal Ascot is typically a major event on the British royal calendar, and it’s likely we’ll see even more members of the British royal family, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, later this week.
