Three people have been charged with violent disorder in Letterkenny.
Paddy Ward, Martin Ward and Geraldine Ward all appeared at Letterkenny District Court in relation to an incident at Cashel Park, Lisnennan, Letterkenny on July 27, 2025.
Garda Eimear O’Kane gave evidence of the arrest, charge and caution of the three.
Paddy Ward, a 19-year-old, as well as Martin Ward (44) and Geraldine Ward (42), all have an address at Cashel Park, Lisnennan, Letterkenny.
All three were charged with violent disorder in that they, with three others present, used, or threatened to use unlawful violence and such conduct taken together was such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness to fear for his or another person’s safety. The charge is contrary to section 15 of the Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act, 1994.
Paddy Ward and Martin Ward were charged with assaulting Martin Mongan and causing him harm, contrary to section 3 (1) and 3 (2) of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997, as amended by section 20 of the Criminal Justice Act (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2023.
Under the same Act, Geraldine Ward was also charged with assault a person and causing them harm.
