When it comes to Hollywood connections, the royal family of Monaco has more claim than most—after all, Prince Albert, the current ruler, is the son of starlet-turned-princess Grace Kelly. And while she might not share the movie star pedigree, Albert’s wife, Princess Charlene showed that she has just as must red carpet glitz as any other A-lister last night, when Monaco played host to the closing ceremony of the star-studded Monte-Carlo Television Festival.
Charlene wore a glittering champagne gown for the big night, complete with a high crew neckline and long sleeves. The style, the Rory gown, comes from Jenny Packham, a formal event favorite designer of Kate Middleton’s as well. Given the crystal and sequin embellishments, Charlene kept the rest of her look pared back, opting for champagne-toned pumps and diamond stud earrings, her signature short hair slicked back.

For the closing ceremony, Charlene and Albert handed out some awards, including most notably the Nymphe de Cristal or Crystal Nymph Award, which the couple presented to Kurt Russell for his “exceptional contribution to the entertainment industry and his remarkable career spanning more than six decades.”
Russell was accompanied by his longtime partner Goldie Hawn for the event.

It’s been a busy year for the star, who recently appeared in the new Taylor Sheridan hit series The Madison. That series, which also co-stars Michelle Pfeiffer, has already filmed a second season, and has been renewed for a third. He also recently co-starred alongside his and Hawn’s son Wyatt Russell in the Apple TV series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters in a dual role, with the father-son duo playing the same character across two different time periods.
Among the other recipients was The Buccaneers star Matthew Broome, who was presented the International Golden Nymph for Most Promising Talent.
