We officially have a new Miss Universe Ireland on our hands! The country is sure to be represented well on the world stage at the Miss Universe global final after our representative was picked on Saturday night.

Limerick lady Aideen Howard wowed judges at the Bonnington Hotel in Dublin. The Boston-born model moved to Ireland from the United States when she was 12.

The 22-year-old, who spent her teenage years in Castletroy, was thrilled when she received her crown, having beat out stiff competition at the glitzy event.

Aideen is currently in college, studying Marketing and French. She was given her crown by Miss Universe Ireland 2025 Aadya Srivastava.

She will go on to represent Ireland at the 75th much-anticipated Miss Universe 2025 final where women from more than 100 countries will compete for the coveted title and reigning Miss Universe, Fátima Bosch Fernández of Mexico, will crown her successor.

Aideen has explained that she feels Miss Universe is about ‘far more than appearance or a title.’ She said: ‘It is an opportunity to represent resilience, kindness, and personal growth while positively using my voice.’

‘I would be incredibly proud to represent Ireland while staying true to the values that matter most to me,’ Aideen said. She credits those close to her for giving her the confidence and support to go after her dreams.

‘My family and friends have always been my biggest support system, and I have also always had a huge love for animals,’ she said.

Aideen also revealed she has big plans that she hopes to achieve with her new role. ‘Supporting vulnerable children and young people is a cause close to my heart.’

‘I understand how important kindness, encouragement, and a sense of belonging can be. I hope to use my voice and experiences to encourage more compassion, inclusion, and support for young people who may be going through difficult circumstances,’ Aideen said.
