Tourism Ireland has partnered once again with Australia’s Seven Network to showcase Ireland’s tourism offering in the latest series of The Great Outdoors, reaching an estimated one million viewers across Australia.
Supported by Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Tourism NI, the filming will feature across three episodes of the popular travel series, which airs this summer on Channel 7.
Australian TV presenter Teigan Nash and the production crew visited a range of tourism attractions and experiences across the island of Ireland. In Kilkenny, filming took place at Highbank Orchards, Kilkenny Design Centre, Mount Juliet and with Hurling Tours Ireland at O’Loughlin Gaels GAA Club.
In Clare, the crew visited Burren Smokehouse, The Burren Perfumery and Aillwee Burren Experience. They also travelled to Northern Ireland, filming at The Gobbins, Glenarm Castle and The Harbourview Hotel along the Causeway Coastal Route, as well as enjoying breadmaking and canoeing experiences at Tracey’s Farmhouse Kitchen on the shores of Strangford Lough.
Sofia Hansson, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Australia and New Zealand, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite ‘The Great Outdoors’ crew back to Ireland to film for their latest series with Australian TV presenter Teigan Nash. It’s a wonderful opportunity to highlight our fantastic outdoor activities and spectacular scenery to millions of Australians, inspiring them to come and experience the destination for themselves.”
