Former Geography and Irish teacher at Mercy College, Sligo.
The death has occurred peacefully of Mary Curran, in the loving and attentive care of the doctors, nurses and staff at North West Hospice, Sligo.
Predeceased by her parents John and Sarah Curran.
She will be sadly missed by her cousins, relatives, great neighbours, former colleagues at Mercy College and her many friends and students whose lives she touched throughout her years of teaching.

Reposing at The Foley and McGowan Funeral Home, Market Yard, Sligo (F91 YR61) on Thursday 25th June 2026 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Funeral will arrive at St. Anne’s Church, Sligo on Friday 26th June 2026 at 11:00am for Requiem mass with funeral proceeding to Rahoon Cemetery, Galway for burial after, arriving at approximately 2:00pm.
