A man charged with the murder of a woman in Co Galway last month has been found dead in his cell in Castlerea Prison.
It is understood the body of Ali Sohrabi was discovered this morning.
Foul play is not suspected.
Gardaí say a post mortem examination will be carried out, and that the result of this will determine the course of their investigation into the matter.
Sohrabi was arrested after the murder of Ms Manojan, who was known locally as Ati Jafari.
Her body was discovered near an IPAS accommodation centre on the outskirts of Clifden last month.
She had sustained extensive slash and stab wounds.
The accused was treated for injuries to his neck before he was formally questioned, and subsequently charged with murder.
