A man aged in his 70s has been killed in a drowning tragedy in County Dublin.

The man got into difficulty in the water at Skerries at approximately 10am this morning.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the incident, with the man’s body being removed from the water by rescue crews.

However he was sadly later pronounced dead.

A file will be prepared for the coroner, and Gardaí say their investigations into the tragedy are ongoing.
