Sharlene Mawdsley has clocked her fourth personal best of the season at her Diamond League debut in Paris.
The 27-year-old finished fifth in the Paris Diamond League with a time of 50.06 over 400 metres.
Marileidy Paulino from the Dominican Republic was a class above the rest of the field and secured a Diamond League record of 48.48.
Mawdsley previously lowered her PB just a week ago when she ran a time of 50.14 at the FBK Games in the Netherlands. This latest result sees her inch closer to breaking the 50-second barrier.
There had been calls for the Paris event to be cancelled due to the “exceptional heatwave” being experienced across Europe and particularly in France. However, organisers decided to go ahead with the meet in an adapted format.
