Sligo women’s gaelic footballers are through to the TG4 All-Ireland junior football semi-finals following Sunday’s 1-11 to 2-7 win over Limerick at Gerald Griffin’s GAA Club.
It should have been more comfortable for Sligo than it was.
They led by eight points in the second half and looked set for victory – until Limerick came with a late rally which narrowed the Sligo lead to a single point.
But Sligo held on – and they now prepare for an All-Ireland semi-final against Group A winners Antrim on July 12th.
It will be repeat of last year’s All-Ireland semi-final which Antrim won by six points (3-10 to 1-10).
