A woman is being treated in hospital following an alleged assault on the southside of Cork city.
Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident this evening, which occurred in the Churchyard Lane area of Ballinlough. A woman was rushed from the scene to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Gardaí have confirmed a man has been arrested following the alleged assault, and he is currently being detained at a Garda station in Cork city.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí attended the scene of an alleged incident of assault at Churchyard Lane, Ballinlough, Cork this evening, Tuesday 30th June 2026. A woman was taken from the scene to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
“A man has been arrested and is currently detained at a Garda Station in Cork City. No further information is available.”
