Carndonagh man Daniel McCormick has been called to the Bar to practise as a barrister in Northern Ireland.

Daniel, the son of Patrick and Geraldine McCormick, is a graduate of Queen’s University Belfast, where he studied Law. He was one of just 20 Bar trainees admitted to the prestigious Institute of Professional Legal Studies last year.

A former pupil of Carndonagh Community School, Daniel has had his sights set on a legal career since his schooldays.

His early ambition was clear when he was part of a team of pupils from his school to represent Ireland in the Empire Mock Trial Competition in New York in November 2017. Daniel will now undertake a six-month pupillage and will be able to accept instructions in March 2026.
