Mayo University Hospital is nearing capacity for kidney dialysis treatment with 75 patients currently attending.

The service can cater to a maximum of 85 people, after which patients would have to travel to another facility, such as University Hospital Galway.

The information was revealed at a recent meeting of the HSE Forum West and North West following a question from Independent Castlebar Councillor Michael Kilcoyne.
