A popular Cork jewellery brand is set to expand with a new location.

Ivy’s Attic, whose eye-catching purple container unit will be well known to Marina Market customers, has teased a new opening at Wilton Shopping Centre. The store will be open this summer, with the brand telling shoppers: “See you very soon.”

Owner Seán Layton has been sharing updates on social media, revealing in a TikTok clip that he’s had his eye on the unit for years. While it’s a tough time to open a business, he said he just couldn’t let the opportunity pass.

Sharing some behind-the-scenes clips of doing up the unit, including a signature purple paint job, he said: “It may seem crazy to open another location in such uncertain times, but that’s just how we roll here at Ivy’s Attic.”

West Cork native Seán recently celebrated six years in business. He started the business back in 2020 as a hobby during the Covid lockdown. Since then, he’s expanded with locations at the Marina Market, in Douglas Village and now the new opening in Wilton.

Ivy’s Attic is independent, Irish-owned and proudly Cork-based. Seán regularly travels across Europe in search of new pieces for his curated collection, offering a fantastic selection of vintage and independently made jewellery for Cork shoppers. Customers can also shop online.

Meanwhile, a new Diesel outlet is opening at Wilton Shopping Centre soon. Jobs are already being advertised, including sales assistant positions.

Wilton Shopping Centre, one of the first dedicated shopping centres in Munster when it opened in 1979, has seen a good bit of comings and goings in recent months. Boots closed its old outlet but promised to move to a bigger unit, which opened just in time for Christmas. Other changes include the closing of Eurogiant and Born clothing, so some new openings will be very welcome news for shoppers.
