For her third and final appearance at Wimbledon 2026, Kate Middleton opted for an elegant green Emilia Wickstead dress. As she watched the men’s finals from the front row of the Royal Box, however, it was her Van Cleef & Arpels earrings that stole the show.

The Princess of Wales first debuted the earrings, from the Magic Alhambra collection, on the BAFTAs red carpet in 2020, pairing them with a matching necklace. She rewore the full mother-of-pearl suite during a royal tour of the Caribbean two years later, and again at a concert celebrating King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation in 2023. For Christmas events in both 2023 and 2025, she wore just the drop earrings sans the necklace.

Van Cleef & Arpels has a long history dressing royals. Per British Vogue, “Van Cleef introduced the Magic Alhambra line in 2006, but the original Alhambra collection was unveiled back in 1968, and went on to catch the eye of another glamorous royal: Princess Grace of Monaco. The former movie star wore her malachite necklace (bought in 1974) layered with others in rock crystal and tortoiseshell. More recently, Princess Charlene of Monaco, who is married to Princess Grace’s son, Albert II, added a light blue Alhambra necklace to her own jewellery collection.”
Queen Camilla, too, is a longtime fan of the French luxury jewelry house, and regularly wears their pieces, including items from the Magic Alhambra line. In fact, on most public engagements—including to the London Zoo earlier this week—the Queen wears a vintage Alhambra bracelet with five blue agate stone motifs.

Kate’s mother-of-pearl suite—which includes the earrings she is wearing today—appears to be the only Van Cleef pieces that she owns.
