A woman in her 50s has been killed in a crash involving a car and a lorry in Co Cork.
The crash occurred on the R568 at Mach East in Ballineen at around 3pm this afternoon.
The woman, who was the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body has been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.
A man aged in his 50s, who was the driver of the lorry, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The road remains closed as gardaí conduct a forensic collision examination.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have been travelling on the R568 at Manch East, Ballineen, Co Cork between 2.30pm and 3.00pm to contact them, particularly anyone who may have dash-cam footage.
