R173 closed due to serious traffic collision

Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene in County Louth

Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the R173 near Ballaverty, Riverstown, Co. Louth.

The collision happened this afternoon – multiple vehicles were involved and a number of people are believed to have suffered serious injuries.

It is believed to have happened outside St. Andrew’s Church.

The road is currently closed and Gardaí say local diversions are in place.
