Sean “Diddy” Combs has offloaded his waterfront Star Island estate for $55 million while serving time at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. The off-market deal, first reported by The Real Deal and later confirmed by TMZ, closed on July 14, 2026.
The deal transferred the bayfront property at 1 Star Island Drive from Combs’ corporate entity, 1 West Star Island LLC, to buyer JFStar LLC. Combs walked away from the deal $20 million richer than what he first paid for the estate half a decade ago.

JFStar LLC, a Newport News-based real estate holding company led by Virginia Beach executive John A. Franklin, acquired the property through an $18.5 million mortgage from San Diego-based Axos Bank.
Combs reportedly paid $35 million for the estate in 2021, when he purchased it from Gloria Estefan and her husband, Emilio Estefan, which was $20 million less than the $55 million the property eventually sold for.
The Real Deal described the estate as sitting on a “1.3-acre bayfront lot with 240 feet of water frontage.” Originally constructed in 1940 and expanded in 1995, the nearly 8,000-square-foot complex features a two-story main home, a guesthouse, a resort-style pool, a spa, and a private dock.

The property that Franklin purchased at 1 Star Island Drive is not the same estate that federal agents raided in March 2024. The raid targeted Combs’ separate neighboring property at 2 Star Island Drive, which Combs still owns.
The two addresses are adjacent but legally distinct, and the July 2026 transaction involved only the former Estefan estate at 1 Star Island Drive.

Combs’ Criminal Case And Prison Sentence

A federal jury acquitted Combs of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges but convicted him on two counts under the Mann Act for transporting people across state lines for prostitution.
Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal correctional institution in New Jersey, with a projected release date of February 23, 2028.
