The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has issued an allergen alert for a specific batch of Doritos Chilli Heatwave Flavour Corn Chips

Irish shoppers have been issued an urgent warning after a bestselling snack available in supermarkets nationwide has been withdrawn from sale due to potential safety concerns for certain consumers.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) released an Allergen Alert on Friday regarding specific batches of Doritos Chilli Heatwave Flavour Corn Chips.
The popular product is being recalled following the discovery that a particular batch contained an undeclared ingredient which presents a possible health hazard to some customers.
The FSAI stated that milk may be present in the product, yet this is not listed on the ingredients label.
According to the food safety regulator, certain Chilli Heatwave packets may actually contain Tangy Cheese seasoning instead, which includes milk, meaning they have been incorrectly labelled, reports the Irish Mirror.
An FSAI spokesperson explained: “Part of the above batch of Doritos Chilli Heatwave Flavour Corn Chips was mispacked with Doritos Tangy Cheese Flavour Corn Chips.

“The product contains milk, but the packaging only contains a precautionary ‘may contain milk’ statement.
“This may make the batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of milk and therefore, these consumers should not eat the implicated batch. The affected batch is being recalled.”
The impacted product is Doritos Chilli Heatwave Flavour Corn Chips; pack size: 140g with a best before date of 05/12/2026 and a batch code of GBC 209 184C.
Manufacturer PepsiCo has confirmed that no other batch codes bearing this best before date are affected. Customers who suffer from a milk allergy or intolerance are being urged to avoid consuming the product and to return it to the store of purchase for a full refund.
A milk allergy can cause symptoms including hives, an upset stomach, vomiting and change in stool habits.
