A Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal team has been called to assist gardaí at an ongoing incident in Co Monaghan.
Gardaí are currently at the scene of the incident on the N2 near Carrickmacross.
In a statement, gardaí confirmed that they stopped a vehicle travelling on the N2 south of Carrickmacross at around 3pm.
Following the stop, An Garda Síochána requested the assistance of the Irish Defence Forces team.
Gardaí said that as this is an ongoing operation, there is no further comment at this time.
