Margaret Farrelly is set to referee Sunday week’s All-Ireland women’s football final between Galway and Kerry at Croke Park.
It’ll be a third time refereeing the biggest game in women’s football for Farrelly, who is involved with the Laragh United club in Cavan.
Farrelly was the woman in the middle in 2014, as Cork came from behind to see off Dublin, and in 2022, when Meath did back-to-back titles against Kerry.
“I’m absolutely honoured to be given the chance to referee another TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship final,” she said. “I’m looking forward to a terrific game between two excellent teams.”
Farrelly has already been in charge of a Galway game this summer, when the Tribeswomen were big winners over Meath in early June. She also took charge as Mayo defeated Donegal to secure their All-Ireland quarter-final spot.
Elsewhere, the intermediate final between Fermanagh and Roscommon will be overseen by Kevin Phelan from Laois, while Cork’s Conor McCarthy will officiate the junior decider between Antrim and Carlow.
