From rich balms to lightweight gels to multiphase serums, I’ve tried just about every eye cream imaginable. If a product earns a spot in my routine, it’s because it’s actually doing something significant. Such is the case with Clarins’ newly reformulated Double Serum Eye, which I put through the paces during a month filled with long-haul flights, allergies and mediocre sleep.

Built on the premise that the delicate eye area ages not only with time, but also from the cumulative effects of everyday life (i.e., stress, pollution and lack of rest), this supercharged serum is designed to deliver both immediate and long-term results. It also promises to visibly brighten, smooth, hydrate and depuff in a mere seven days. Naturally, I was skeptical.
So, what sets this new iteration apart from the original eye serum that debuted in 2021? Antioxidant-rich turmeric remains the backbone of the formula, but the 2026 upgrade includes a few additional star players. Marjoram extract, niacinamide and caffeine have been added to help combat everything from pesky dark circles to crow’s feet.

A revamped bottle rounds out the relaunch. With a twist of the base, the dual-chamber vessel dispenses a drop that’s two-thirds water-based serum and one-third oil-based emulsion. After mixing the two components between my fingertips, the lightweight, nongreasy formula slid effortlessly across skin and quickly absorbed, making it easy to layer beneath concealer. One thing that took some getting used to for me was the fragrance, but if you’ve used other Clarins skincare products, you’re likely familiar with the brand’s signature floral scent. (I now really enjoy it.)
Clarins’ Double Serum Eye now includes firming marjoram extract, brightening niacinamide and skin-tightening caffeine.
Kim Peiffer For Forbes
After a few days of consistent use, my under-eye bags looked less pronounced, a surprising discovery considering my Oura Ring provided me with a depressingly low sleep score multiple nights in a row. Several weeks later, the fine lines around my eyes seemed noticeably softer. I was intrigued.
Now that I’ve tested Double Serum Eye for well over a month, my takeaway is this: It works—and fast. I’m already dreading the day I reach for the bottle and realize it’s empty.
