Six men have been removed from the country following the issuing of deportation orders.
The Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) of An Garda Síochána conducted the operation on Tuesday.
All six individuals were removed aboard a chartered flight that departed Dublin in the early hours of yesterday morning, Tuesday 28 July, bound for Nigeria.
The deportation of these six individuals, all of whom have criminal convictions in this jurisdiction, supports ongoing nationwide operations by An Garda Síochána, including:.
A Garda spokesperson said: “An Garda Síochána continues to work closely with the Department of Justice in implementing immigration policy along with the Irish Prison service in the implementation of these operations” reports the Irish Mirror.
