Ugh, as if we’ve had to wait this long for a sequel to one of our favourite films of the 90s: Clueless.
The 1995 film, loosely adapted from Jane Austen’s Emma, follows Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone), a ‘beautiful, popular, wealthy’ high school student who wants to do ‘good deeds’.
Clueless culminated in the best way possible for us soppy romance fans; she ends up with the man of her dreams, Josh Lucas (who’s actually her former stepbrother… let’s overlook that part).

Despite seeing initial gangbuster success and becoming a cult-classic film, Clueless was never greenlit for a sequel — until now.
Here we are, 31 years later, and Clueless has been picked up by Paramount+ as a limited series, with filming slated to begin in LA next year.
And the moment we’ve all been waiting for… Alicia Silverstone will reprise her role as Beverly Hills it-girl Cher.

Alicia will also serve as an executive producer on the sequel, much like Reese Witherspoon on the Legally Blonde spin-off series Elle.
The general concept has remained the same, picking up over 30 years after the events of the original film.
Three decades down the line, Cher has figured out a lot: She’s successful in business and has mastered motherhood- that is, until her daughter’s high school years.

We’re totally buggin’ (in the best way) for the upcoming sequel, but the question on our minds, as we’re sure it is everyone else’s, is: will Paul Rudd reprise his role as Cher’s hunky love interest (and former stepbrother) Josh?
