Ballyshannon native confirmed as new High Court Judge by President Connolly

Ballyshannon’s Cathleen Noctor has been named as one of three new High Court Judges.

Her appointment was confirmed at a ceremony at Áras an Uachtaráin this week by President Catherine Connolly.

She was appointed to the High Court bench alongside Justice Michael James Conlon and Justice Séamus Given.

A former Senior Counsel who practiced law in the Dublin area for three decades, she was nominated for the role by the Government in July.

Cathleen is a native of the Creevy area and attended the Convent of Mercy in Ballyshannon.

She completed her law studies at UCD and King’s Inns before being admitted to the bar in 1998.

Specialising in criminal law, Cathleen was admitted to the upper bar in 2018.
