A motorcyclist in his 40s has died after a collision in Leighlinbridge, Co Carlow this morning.
The incident involving a motorcycle and a car happened at around 9.30am on the R448 at Ballyknockan.
The man was airlifted to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
The coroner has been notified.
The road was closed for forensic examination but has since reopened.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone who was travelling in the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone with camera footage, including dash cam or mobile phone recordings.
