The couple have documented much of their love story on Instagram, with Sam’s feed dedicated to holiday photos alongside Celeste, from ski trips in St Moritz to climbing mountains in Bali and balls at Lancaster House. One photo with Celeste and sister Delphi is captioned: ‘Favourites from the July/August adventures with the Clan and my personal Lara Croft.’
No doubt celebrations will be ringing out throughout the Rosebery estate, where Celeste grew up alongside her five siblings (the society swan is one of a set of triplets). Speaking to Tatler, Delphi said that when her siblings were younger, they were all ‘quite a feisty bunch’. Marina, the eldest, was ‘definitely the bossiest, but also very responsible – she looks after us all’.
Describing her relationship with her triplet siblings, Delphi recounted: ‘I was born with two best friends. Tolly would kill for me, Celeste would die for me, and while it was sad with Mum and Dad getting divorced [in 2014], ultimately it’s made us as a sibling group really close, reliant on each other and resilient to the outside world.’
The couple are not the first high society pair to announce their upcoming nuptials this summer. In July, Princess Margaret’s grandson, Samuel Chatto, announced that he is engaged to his girlfriend of five years, Eleanor Ekserdjian.
Sam announced the happy news on his Instagram, writing: ‘I’m really delighted to say that Ellie and I are engaged. And we couldn’t be happier. I proposed with a porcelain ring which I made.’
The couple, who have been dating since 2021, had already given a number of signals that they are serious about each other, including recently attending the wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling. The couple have also previously joined King Charles III, Queen Camilla and other senior royals for Christmas at Sandringham.
