Three men have been arrested in Co Cavan as part of an investigation into organised crime.

The men, in their 30s, were arrested following searches of four homes in West Cavan today.

They are being detained at stations in the Garda North Western Region.

It follows assaults on two men at Cullyleenan, Ballyconnell in the early hours of Sunday.

The two men, 30s, were brought to Cavan General Hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

A man in his 30s was also assaulted outside a commercial premises in the area at around 5.20pm on Wednesday.

Investigations are ongoing.
