Shortly after 6pm this evening Ireland will experience a partial solar eclipse as the Moon moves across the Sun.
The event, which will last until around 8pm, should be visible across the country.
However, a lot will depend on what the latest weather and cloud cover reports tell us later in the day.
The last big solar eclipse event here was on 11 August 1999.
Back then a large crowd gathered in the Phoenix Park in Dublin to try to catch a glimpse of what is a very rare occurrence.
