New for the 2026 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney has brought the vast Walt Disney Archives warehouses to the show floor. The exhibition takes guests on a journey only Disney archivists normally get to take — a magical exploration of the archives, where guests can explore themed displays of uncrated treasures from Disney’s incredible film, television, animation, and theme park history.

A journey through Disney history at Walt Disney Archives: Uncrated
D23 started as a project of the Walt Disney Archives and as the club has evolved and the biannual convention grows, one thing remains true — D23 always has one foot firmly planted in its roots as the company marches ever onward. Every D23 convention, the Walt Disney Archives puts together a unique exhbition of Disney artifacts — a rare opportunity for fans to get an upclose look at rare items, props, costumes, and more.
This year, the Archives scoured its warehouses and pulled crates full of priceless artifacts from film, television, theme parks, and beyond. The Archives team has lovingly “uncrated” these artifacts for fans to get an upclose look at. Various “prime time” television props and artifacts on display as you head into the “Uncrated” exhibit

That’s our look at this year’s Walt Disney Archives exhibit. With so much to uncrate in the Archives, itsn’t it time that Disney finally builds its own, permanent museum where they can display some of these items for the public to enjoy? We’d love for a permanent Walt Disney Archives Museum!
