More than a dozen walkers from Donegal have scaled Croagh Patrick today for a good cause.
The No Mountain High Enough charity climb set out this morning to raise funds for both the Solace Cancer Support Centre in Donegal Town, and St Peter’s Church of Ireland in Killaghtee.
Despite the early alarm and leaving the Solace centre just after 8am, the walkers made it to the summit of the famous mountain by the late afternoon.
Their online fundraiser has raised over €4,380 to date, with the funds to be split 75/25 between Solace and St Peter’s Church.
The Solace Cancer Support Centre based Donegal Town offers emotional support and practical help for people who have been diagnosed with cancer, or any life-threatening illness, providing support for families, friends, for care givers and the bereaved.
Meanwhile St Peter’s Church is entirely financially supported by its parishoners, with fundraising vital to its ongoing maintainence.
