EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders confirmed Zoe Slater’s exit last month, and it looks like the BBC One soap is really going ahead with killing the character off just one year after her much-hyped return.
The show has been filming Zoe’s funeral scenes, with all the Slater family in attendance. That includes Kat, Big Mo, Josh, Jasmine, Lily, and Tommy, as seen in these pictures.

Not featured in these pictures, however, are Jean actor Gillian Wright and Alfie actor Shane Richie. The latter is back filming after his drink driving arrest and the report that he has divorced from his wife Christie Goddard after 19 years.
Since Zoe returned last year, she has reunited with her family and tried to battle her demons, although it hasn’t been plain sailing.
She also discovered the identity of her twins, Jasmine and Josh, and it looked like she would be rekindling her romance with their father Andrew Trueman. However, Andrew was trying to manipulate everyone around him and Jasmine ended up killing him.
We don’t know how Zoe is going to die yet, but given how dramatic her storylines have been so far, we imagine her exit storyline will follow suit.
When it was announced that Zoe would finally be returning to Albert Square, actor Michelle Ryan said: “It all happened at the right time. I’d already been thinking about a return because I’d met up with Kacey [Ainsworth] and Kim [Medcalf].”

“We were reminiscing our fond memories of the show, and I’d also joined social media and saw that there was still a lot of love for the character. It feels like [I’m] coming home. After doing my first few scenes, it was like I’d never been away.”
Ryan isn’t the only actor leaving the soap soon, as Ravi Gulati actor Aaron Thiara has also been confirmed to be departing.
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
