There are still four months to go before film fans can return to the desert planet of Arrakis – but the first tickets have now gone on sale for the third entry in Denis Villeneuve’s epic Dune trilogy.
The news was announced with a brand new teaser yesterday (Tuesday 20 August), which revealed that tickets for premium large format screenings, including 70mm IMAX, have now been made available.
The 30-second teaser also gave us a glimpse of a key character in Frank Herbert’s source novels, the Spacing Guild navigator Edric, whose voice we hear for the first time.
“Tell me what lies ahead,” we hear Florence Pugh’s Irulan request of him, against a backdrop of some suitably dramatic Hans Zimmer music.
“The end,” comes his ominous response. Check out the trailer below:

Edric – who’s face is hidden behind a helmet – is an important player in Herbert’s Dune: Messiah, which serves as the narrative basis for this third film in the trilogy.
In the book, he is a Spacing Guild Navigator (a mutated human with the limited ability to look into the past and future) who lives in a tank filled with orange spice gas and is a central conspirator against Paul Atreidis.
Of course, the teaser also shows us plenty of Timothée Chalamet’s Paul and Zendaya’s Chani, while Jason Momoa’s returning Duncan Idaho also features in what is a rather intense clip.
A previous trailer was released back in July that showed Paul at his darkest yet – and it certainly looks like this trilogy-capper is going to be worth the wait for the many who loved Villeneuve’s first two instalments.
Roll on December!
