Irish Olympic champion Rhys McClenaghan and teammate Eamon Montgomery have both qualified to the apparatus final at the 2026 European Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.
McClenaghan hit 14.400 on pommel ranking fifth place whilst Montgomery scored 14.033 to finish sixth on floor.
This event marks the first ever European final for Montgomery. Both gymnasts will compete on Friday August at 5pm Irish time.
The qualification round saw the European Senior debut of James Hickey and Oisin O’Connell and a return to the international stage for Adam Steele and Daniel Fox.
Hickey finished with an all around score of 75.365 for the six events he competed in, leaving him in 47th place overall.
Montgomery meanwhile have a complete total of 72.565, finishing in 68th place.
Team Ireland has completed their competition with a score of 226.496, ranking 21st.
