Tánaiste welcomes positive upgrade to national economic outlook

The country’s economic outlook has grown more upbeat.
Moody’s has upgraded Ireland’s credit rating to Aa2.
The Tánaiste Simon Harris has welcomed the upgrade of Ireland’s long-term sovereign credit rating by Moody’s to Aa2 from Aa3, with a positive outlook.
The upgrade reflects its assessment the nation’s strong economy will continue to grow.

Simon Harris says it means the country now enjoys a rating of at least ‘AA’ from all major credit rating agencies.
He says this upgrade demonstrates the fundamental resilience and strength of the Irish economy.
He says as they begin preparations for Budget 2027 they will continue to build on the progress they have made.
