Stephen Kenny has dismissed suggestions that over-confidence from his own players was the reason behind a disappointing FAI Cup exit at the hands of a rampant Cork City, with the Saints now in a real dogfight to secure European football for next season.

Pat’s were clear favourites to win the semi-final tie against Cork, even though City’s home form had been impressive while Kenny admitted that Pat’s have just not been good enough on the road this season, but an early goal from Seani Maguire had Cork in front and they sealed the win with a second-half brace from Evan McLaughlin, to earn Cork a passage to the final.
