A man aged in his late teens has been seriously injured following a road crash involving an e-scooter in Co Longford.
The incident happened on the Battery Road in Longford Town at around 10.40pm last night.
The man was brought to Regional Hospital in Mullingar with serious injuries.
He has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where he is said to be in a critical condition.
A teenager, a passenger believed to be in her teens, was also brought to hospital in Mullingar. Her injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
The road where the incident happened has been closed to for a garda forensic collision examination.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are asking anyone who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the Battery Road area between 10.15pm and 10.45pm to make it available to them.
