A pedestrian has died after he was struck by his own van in Grange, Co Sligo.
The incident happened near Luke’s Bridge in the Gortnaleck area at around 3.55pm yesterday.
The pedestrian, a man in his 40s who was the owner of the van, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road where the collision happened was closed for a technical examination and has since reopened.
An appeal for witnesses has been issued and gardaí have asked road users who were travelling in the area between 3.30pm and 4pm and who may have dash cam footage to make it available to them.
