Amy Huberman got all dolled up to go to the movies on Saturday night for a very special cause. The actress dazzled in a black dress as she hosted the LauraLynn Oscars, joined by stars such as Domhnall Gleeson and Arthur Gourounlian.
The red carpet awards ceremony, which was held at the Odeon cinema in Charlestown, celebrated six original films created by children and their families who attend LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice.
The Hollywood-inspired evening showed six films, which the children and their families created and starred in, with the help of professional writers, filmmakers and volunteers, including Amy.

This year’s films included Knights of the Green and Red, Dino Hard, Nellie the Good, Madison’s Magic Switch, Harry’s Hugs and Never Home Alone, showcasing the imagination, humour and creativity of the children at the heart of each story.
Amy admitted that she cried most of her makeup off at the emotional event, taking to social media to gush over the kids and all of the staff at LauraLynn.

‘I’m just back from the 2026 LauraLynn Oscars, and honestly, it was just the most special day. It’s hard not to have goosebumps when you’re there. It’s really emotional.’
‘The whole day is about the kids and their friends and their families and a day of celebration just for them. Six kids get to be the superstar in their own film. They’re really fun, the big adventures that they get to go on, and lots of the family members are involved and play parts in their films,’ Amy explained.

‘Everyone gets to watch them in the cinema together, and there’s loads of tears and laughter, and I mean, some of the stuff is just really funny as well, so watching the kids get to enjoy that with their families is really special,’ she gushed.
The mum-of-three wore the Petula dress by designer label Queens of Archive to the event, which is currently sold out, but keep an eye out as it may return. The floor-sweeping gown also has a ruffled cape and is paired with the stylish gúna with gold knot-style earrings by Irish brand Croía.
