The main Dungloe-Burtonport road remains closed following a serious road traffic collision.
A collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian occurred this afternoon on the R259 near Meenmore, Dungloe.
It is understood that a person was taken to hospital in an air ambulance, which landed on the road close to the scene.
“Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the R259 near Meenmore, Dungloe, Co. Donegal this evening Thursday 10th September 2026,” a Garda spokesperson told Donegal Daily.
“The road is currently closed. Local diversions are in place.”
The spokesperson added that there was no further information available at this time.
