NEW BERN, Craven County — Craven Arts Council/Bank of the Arts will celebrate the completion of 2 new downtown New Bern murals this weekend.
The murals, titled “From Firehouse to Landmark” and “Party Animals,” were developed over the past several months at The Chelsea and The Flying Fox.
The first dedication ceremony is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at The Chelsea, 335 Middle St.
A second ceremony will follow at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at The Flying Fox, 411 Broad St.
The public helped create both works during a Community Paint Day in May. Craven Arts Council said volunteers were able to paint at both locations, with supplies provided and no experience required.
