Donald Trump has touched down in Ireland for his two day visit.
The US president landed in Dublin Airport around half past 8, and has now arrived at Áras an Uachtaráin, where he will be meeting with President Catherine Connolly.
He’s set to arrive to a huge security operation with members of the secret service and the Garda armed support unit on standby.
He’ll get a captain’s escort before receiving a guard of honour from members of the Defence Forces drawn from Finner Camp in Donegal.
This will be his first meeting with Catherine Connolly and it’s going to be watched closely, as the former TD has been critical of the US in the past.
Whether straightforward or not, the engagement between the two presidents isn’t expected to last for long, before the US president heads to Farmleigh House for a meeting with the Taoiseach.
